Buracona is a dream place, creating an interesting landscape where the sea and rocks combine perfectly. Together with the natural pools of Fajã de Água, on Brava Island, they are the best known in the archipelago.

The Blue Eye: A unique experience in Buracona

This place has a secret. At first glance, it’s just a hole, with water inside, like many others. Except, that in this case, at a certain time of the day, when the sun reaches a certain angle – usually around 11 o’clock – and hits this water, it creates an effect, which looks like a blue eye, with fantastic hues. And everything that seemed simple becomes magical. Not to be missed!

Buracona, along with the Salinas de Pedra Lume, are one of the biggest tourist attractions on the island.
