Santo Antão: a wonder of Nature

When it comes to incredible views, the island of Santo Antão, with its mountains and valleys, is a reference site in Cape Verde. However, in the midst of so many trails and hikes there is one that still stands out: the village of Fontaínhas.

Located on the side of a mountain, the village is on top of cliffs, with access to it being via a small vertiginous path that runs through the middle of the mountains. Their colorful houses and small buildings, high enough to also enjoy the view, complete the scene. Close to Ponta do Sol, and relatively close to the Paul Valley, it is a fantastic place.

While on the one hand it is strange to feel that any misstep can be a danger, on the other hand it is a wonderful feeling to be able to enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the world, according to National Geographic.

The mountain trail, of which Fontaínhas is a part, as well as other villages such as Ants, is a wonderful walk that allows you to observe breathtaking sites.
