How to choose what to visit in Cape Verde

Choosing what to visit in Cape Verde depends on the type of trip you are going to take, whether you intend to visit one or more islands, how many days you will stay on each island, and your budget for the trip.

If your objective is sun and sea, you can opt for Sal Island, with its tourist offer, places like buracona, blue eye, salt pans and white sand beaches; Ilha da Boa Vista, with its extensive deserted white sand beaches, Viana desert and wildlife; and Ilha do Maio, with its beautiful, less touristy beaches, may be the ideal options. If your objective is nature and mountains in pure state, a Santo Antão Islandwith its green valleys and breathtaking scenery; the Island of San Nicolauwhere natural sculptures and walking trails abound; and the Brava Islandless exploited; or the Fogo Island, with its active volcano and fertile land, can be your chosen locations. If you want social life, culture, and a more urban environment, the island of Santiago with its monuments, Cidade da Praia, the Old Town, Tarrafal; and the island of São Vicente, with its markets and cultural offerings and carnival, may have more to offer you.

If you want a mix of experiences or to get to know the country better, you can always take a tour that includes several islands.
